Pada hari Sabtu siang (26/9) seluruh keluarga besar Nahdlatul Ulama cabang Pakistan berkumpul dalam kehangatan di kantor sekretariat yang bertempat di Abpara- Islamabad. PCINU Pakistan menggelar acara silaturahim yang juga dilanjutkan dengan acara konfercab (Konferensi Cabang).
Acara konferensi dimulai dengan sambutan dari ketua tanfiziah periode 2008-2009 Agus Handoko S.Th.I dan dilanjutkan dengan tausiyah tentang fadhilah Silaturrahim yang dibawakan oleh ustadz Andre yang juga katib Syuriah PCINU Pakistan. Selanjutnya, setelah membacakan laporan pertanggung jawabannya, datanglah acara yang ditunggu-tunggu yaitu pemilihan ketua syuriah dan ketua tanfidziah. Akhirnya penghitungan suara pun dimulai dan terpilihlah Syihabuddin Tahir selaku rais syuriah dan Ahmad Nabil sebagai ketua tandfidziah untuk masa bakti 2009-2010.
Dalam sambutannya, Ahmad Nabil menegaskan agar segala aktivitas dan kegiatan NU tidak terpaku untuk kalangan dalam saja. "Sudah waktunya NU Pakistan melebarkan sayap" katanya. "Kalau bisa kita pasarkan Islam Indonesia di Pakistan dengan beberapa rancangan program ke depan"tambahnya.
Niam Sutaman, Mustasyar PCINU Pakistan menegaskan bahwa NU adalah organisasi bersifat jamaah yang inklusif, yakni bisa menerima berbagai elemen dan kelas di masyarakat, baik yang berlatar belakang santri, priayi atau abangan. Kemoderatan NU juga membuat organisasi ini bisa berkompromi dengan budaya setempat selama tidak bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam. Tak luput, ia juga menerangkan tentang sejarah, visi, dan misi berdirinya NU guna merefresh kembali semangat warga NU.
Saking antusiasnya ketua Tanfidziah, Ahmad Nabil langsung menyusun formatur kepengurusan PCINU masa bakti 2009-2010 yang rencananya akan dilantik 2 pekan mendatang.
Di penghujung acara,Andri Gunawan selaku sekjen MSU memberikan apresiasi luar biasa atas kepengurusan PCINU Pakistan yang dalam keorganisasiannya, semuanya teratur rapi dan terkesan terbungkus hangat dalam suasana kekeluargaan.
"saya kagum dan salut dengan keharmonisan yang ada dalam kepengurusan NU Pakistan, hal ini yang saya yakini dapat menjadikan semua program kerjanya bisa berjalan maksimal, dan ini patut dicontoh oleh organsasi lain, bahkan sebisa mungkin diimprove" jelasnya.
Acara silaturrahmi berlangsung begitu khidmat, dan dihadiri perwakilan dari beberapa ketua LK (Lembaga Kekeluargaan) yang ada di Pakistan. Hadir saudara Evi Hanafiah dari PKS, Andri Gunawan perwakilan dari MSU (Moslem Student Union) yang tak adalah sekjen MSU sendiri, Syukron Ma'mun selaku sekjend PPMI Pakistan (Persatuan Pelajar dan Mahasiswa), Dody Mulyawan dan Anggi Maulana Rizki yang tak lain adalah ketua IKPM (Ikatan Keluarga Pondok Modern) Gontor cabang Pakistan, hingga dengan kehadiran mereka dalam menunjukkan rasa persaudaraan diantara sesama muslim yang berasal dari Indonesia.
